The IT Avaya Telecommunication Advisor position is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of telephone hardware and software in a very complex and high paced, multi-tasking environment.
The Advisor will be responsible for the implementation of telephony applications and hardware pertaining to the Avaya PBX's and related adjuncts, both Avaya and non-Avaya, such as System and Session Manager, Avaya CMS, Avaya Media-servers and gateways, Avaya phones, Contact Analyzer, Control Manager, Breeze/Presence, Virtual Hold and potentially Oracle SBC support. Other duties include adding, moving and changing telephone systems and providing support to all Enterprise locations. Additionally, the Advisor may provide hands-on implementation at remote facilities to install media-gateways and servers, IP telephone sets, IP telephone scope, which may also include managing vendors on-site to ensure specifications are maintained and architectural design is adhered to.
The Advisor will work cross-organizationally to set-up and/or resolve issues with the network infrastructure team, call recording teams or call routing teams. Designing system layouts/configurations and planning new product implementations including pricing for new projects to meet business needs are also included in the responsibilities. The position will be a 24x7 rotation providing tier support for issues and guidance to peers.

Required Qualifications
5-8 years of experience supporting Avaya Communication Manager, System Manager, Session Manager, Media Gateways and Servers, Avaya IP Telephone, Vector knowledge, IP design and Maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience and working knowledge of Avaya Aura Communication Manager systems and adjuncts.
Knowledge of Avaya System Installation and Patch Management across a multi-site environment
* Knowledge of carrier services and interfaces
* Experience with problem solving, trouble shooting
* Experience and willingness to mentor and motivate others and work well within and across teams
* Strong interpersonal skills, both oral and written
* Strong organizational skills
* Ability to think outside the box
* Proficient with MS Office Applications, Windows Operating System, Linux Operating Systems

Education
Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience required
